Voluntary civil liability insurance for harm caused to third parties in the course of business. The product suits organisations and entrepreneurs whose activity may harm the life, health or property of others but does not fall under a compulsory class.
How it differs from the compulsory classes
In the compulsory classes — carrier’s liability, employer’s liability, hazardous facilities liability, dangerous goods carrier liability — the sums insured and rates are set by law. Here the sum insured, sub-limits and rate are set individually on the basis of a questionnaire about the nature and scale of the activity and its risks.
What is covered
- harm to the life and health of third parties;
- damage to third-party property.
A separate sub-limit can be set for each risk, as well as a limit per insured event, within the overall aggregate limit of the contract.
How the premium is calculated
Premium = sum insured × rate (%) × adjustment coefficient × contract term in days / 364. The rate is applied within a range of 0.5% to 1.5% and the adjustment coefficient between 0.1 and 10; the exact values follow from the risk assessment. A sales tax of 2% is applied to the calculated premium.
Deductible
The contract may include a deductible: none, a fixed amount, a percentage of the sum insured, or one applied to total loss or a particular risk.
