CASCO-Extra

Voluntary insurance

A fixed-programme complement to MTPL: covers damage to your own car in an accident that was your fault. From 1,680 som.

CASCO-Extra is voluntary motor insurance under a fixed programme. It is designed as the mirror image of MTPL: while MTPL indemnifies harm you cause to third parties, CASCO-Extra covers damage to your own car in an accident that was your fault.

How it differs from standard CASCO

With CASCO-Extra there is no need to choose the programme type, the list of risks or the sum insured — the cover and the rate are set in advance. The application is therefore shorter: only the vehicle details and the list of admitted drivers are required. If you need an individual calculation based on the car’s value and a wider set of risks, choose CASCO; for basic cover under fixed packages, choose CASCO-Econom.

Price

Prices start from 1,680 som. A sales tax of 2% is applied to the calculated premium.

Who can take out the policy

The application records separately whether the policyholder is the owner of the vehicle according to the registration certificate. The policy can also be taken out for a car you drive under a power of attorney — the owner’s details are entered in the contract.

Drivers admitted

The policy lists the drivers admitted to use the car, or the option of an unlimited number of drivers is selected.

How to arrange it

  1. Enter the insurance period and the policyholder’s details; state whether you are the owner according to the registration certificate.
  2. Fill in the vehicle details: type, make, model, engine capacity, year of manufacture, VIN and registration data.
  3. List the drivers admitted to use the car.
  4. Complete electronic identification and sign the documents with an electronic digital signature.
  5. Pay the premium and receive the policy in electronic form.

Payment is accepted online, by QR code, bank transfer, mobile banking apps, at a terminal, through an agent or at the cash desk. The policy can also be arranged at the head office and at any SIO branch.

Documents required

The policyholder’s passport; the vehicle registration certificate; driving licences of the admitted drivers.

If an insured event occurs

  1. Stop, switch on the hazard lights and set out the warning triangle.
  2. Notify the road safety authority.
  3. Photograph or film the scene and the damage.
  4. Notify SIO and submit a claim — on the call centre numbers 0 553 54 54 00 and 0 707 54 54 00 or through the claim form on the website.
  5. Do not repair the car before it has been inspected by the insurer’s representative.
